Dr. Susan Fife is a 1996 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She has successfully completed her certification in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese Herbal medicine, homeopathy, veterinary spinal manipulation (chiropractic), veterinary rehabilitation and canine fitness therapy. Using these modalities, she helps to alleviate pain without the use of drugs and to increase the performance of working and athletic animals. Susan Fife has a passion for the Canine Athletic and specializes in the care and conditioning of these canine athletes.

Dr. Susan shares her home with Mike Burch, a plethora of Whippets, an extra special Labrador Retriever, a gaggle of Dutch Shepherds and a wily gang of Belgian Malinois. Most of our pack are extreme athletes in their own venues.

Mike Burch
Swimming coach, pool captain, lure-op and part-time on-site photographer.
Mike started working with dogs from an early age. He has always shared a bond and found it easy to communicate with them. During his childhood, his dogs could perform multiple tricks long before “trick dog” was a thing. His methods of training have always been positive and the dogs react with enthusiasm, eager to please and learn.

As an adult, Mike continued his passion with dogs with his two whippets. He developed a passion for creating the best environment, opportunity and wellness for his own dogs, tapping their greatest genetic potential. Their overall health shines through in both their performance and his photography. With their exercise and nutritional program, Mike brought his whippets to #2 and #3 in the nation in AKC lure coursing during their first year of coursing. Working with the high drive dutch shepherds, Mike has a calming and gentle influence and has helped bring one to state level certification in disaster search and rescue and has brought the other to shine in dock diving. With his patience, Mike has been able to teach both dutch shepherds how to navigate the terrain of collapsed buildings and climb ladders, uneven surfaces, tunnels and multiple other obstacles that they may encounter during their careers in disaster search and rescue.

Whatever the discipline, the dogs respond well to Mike’s gentle approach.

In photography, Mike has a unique perspective when capturing pictures. He has a great love for the canine athlete and this is seen in his ability to capture the true essence of the dog as it is enjoying the sport. Photography has been a hobby for Mike for many years along with a great love for dogs and a passion for dog training. Through his canine photography, Mike has been able to combine his love for dogs and for photography by capturing dogs and their owners as they are enjoying their activities and expanding their bonds. The love for each other shows clearly in all his pictures.

“Be yourself. Unless you can be Batman, In that case, you should always be Batman.”
